Hello,
With my remote starter (prostart CT-5000), when I am in my car, get it into ready mode and exit the vehicle, sometimes instantly or shortly after exiting, the car shuts off and the p.lights blink twice meaning that remote start was cancelled but I hadn't had a chance to turn off the car and lock it before it shut off.
I am about 99% sure it's due to static because it happens when I wear a specific pair of shoes or a nylon jacket. Is there something I can do to prevent the module from messing up when it is really dry and staticy?? I tried moving the ground to a more central point under the dash instead of near the drives door. That doesn't help.
Any ideas on how to fix this? It's really annoying because the car is manual if it shuts off, then I would have to re-start it only for the same thing to happen again preventing me from using the remote start.
Thanks for all your help in advance.

What make, model and year is this vehicle. I had this happen to some Sunfire's & Cavalier's because the dome light would turn on after the vehicle would shut off. This would tell the remote starter that a door was opened when infact it was the dome light turning on.

It's a 2005 Toyota Matrix.
It's as I am getting it into ready mode. You know, apply parking brake, push the unlock button on the remote, take take the key out, exit the vehicle, close door and push lock to lock the doors and turn car off.
It shuts off when/ as soon as I get out of the car before I push the lock button to lock and shut down.

I doubt its related to static.

Do you have your foot on the brake as you exit? That may cancel the start sequence.

Northstart.....or start it your damn self.

First thing I would check is to make sure that your BRAKE wire is not getting 12 volts and next I would check your connection to your door trigger wire to make sure that you have it on the RED (-) trigger at the fuse box. Meter this wire to ensure that it's the correct one and that it goes to ground when the door is open and 12 volts when the door is closed.
