A question to anyone who has used one of these. They sound too good to be true, are they? maybe I'm not understanding how it works. If you install say the XK04 in a 05 Explorer, this will override the RF transponder and work the door locks thru the vechicles databus using the R/S remote without having to use relays or connecting the lock/unlock wires? I also have a Chrysler Town & Country comong in a weeks or so will the correct module do the same with that and operate the sliding door's too?

The XK04 will do transponder override but will not operate door locks on the Ford. The XK01 will do the 2005 Caravan and this will have the ability to do all the available functions of the vehicle through the databus wire.

Thanks Jeff,

I know each one does different things. I was just wondering if they eliminated hooking up all of the extras.

Thanks again,

Ed

I currently use the xpress kits for the new toyotas, hondas, fords, and chryslers(w/second starter and acces.) As for GM's, most of them I use DEI peices. The new Colorados, G6's...... use the Xpress kit XK-06. The Xpress kits are really nice because they can be flashed to work on several vehicles. So far nothing but good things to say about them...Oh, and they save you from dropping the steering shroud down on most cars. How many tilt wheel levers have you screwed up with pliers?

Yeah, I use them all the time. keeps inventory down even though they are a bit more expensive.. they seem to work flawlessly, only had one bad one that wouldn't flash.... The tech support has gotten 100% better too... thatguy there is great... knows his stuff...

I have always highly reccommended them and thier tech is one of the best I ever talked with.  Thier products I have used for along time now and are very good to use.

the xpresskits are alittle pricey for some vehicles. But compare it to a customer losing a key........priceless....almost.

the only problem I have had with xpresskits is the XK 532. Twice now I have had the transponder portion not be able to code into a vehicle. According to thier tech support, this is a common issue with all chrysler keys, and they actually use a real chrysler chip to do the bypass. Thier return policy is great tho, so they shipped me a new one both times without trouble.
Northstart.....or start it your damn self.
