Ok this may be a basic question but i cant find the answer,,,, ive got a 2000 grand am GT and two years ago i had Best Buy install this alarm for me. Huge Mistake... anyways they didnt hook up the trunk sensor that i bought. well they hooked it up to the hood pin.  i want to hook the trunk up to the correct trigger. ive looked through the install guide a few times with no luck... also i want to hook the release up to my remote and am having trouble with that. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks, Brian

Trunk/Hatch Release      BLACK/ white       -       trunk release switch
Trunk/Hatch Pin      ORANGE / black       -       trunk light
the trunk pin will go to the blue wire in the main harness of the viper brain. trunk release will go to the RED / white in the main harness of the viper brain. trunk sensor that you bought? such as . . .

Don't forget, I think you need to hook up the RED / white wire of the alarm to a relay, and not directly to the trunk release wire of the car (as per the viper manual).

Yea, I don't see why not. Still use a relay, though. I would assume the wire is in the driver's kick panel, too, which is probably a lot easier to get to than going through to the door.

Are you saying that when the trunk is popped with the alarm set that the remote shows that the hood has opened? If so that is a programmable feature on the remote itself. It can be changed from hood to trunk or both if they are on the same wire.
