I was wondering if anyone knows of a bitwriter-type module for prestige/audiovox.
If they made their units as easy to program as DEI I wouldn't even be interested in one.

I've gotten pretty good at programming all the Audiovox stuff, both the older ones and the brand-new ones.
On the new units, the programming is more complex, but it is the exact same menu right from the cheapest to the most expensive unit......learn it once, and you can apply that to all of them.
But anyway, to answer your question. They say they have a Wireless Programmer now. It doesn't plug in like DEI's Bitwriter; rather, it works through the alarm's antenna.
Audiovox also introduced a Wireless Programmer when they started selling their Code Alarm units in Circuit City a couple of years ago.....I believe all of the install shops got a programmer, too.
I am curious if the programmer would work with the Prestige/Pursuit stuff, but I haven't had a chance to try it.
Regardless, they are thinking/talking about getting the new programmer where I work. If we get one one, I'll post back with results.

Thanks for the info....my friend who works at best buy says he his install bay has one of the wireless one, and that it costs 1200 dollars! It does work for prestige and audiovox....but I guess I'm gonna have to keep pressing buttons until they make an affordable one.

the piece actually is about $100 and you should be able to get it from any code/audiovox rep.
