how to prepare:
1. get an 01 sierra diagram. there is a database on this site. there are also different diagram, maybe more detailed, on this board through search.
2. study your alarm install manual and find these wires:
---ground, 12volt constant input, siren, door trigger, parking light, starter wire, ignition, disarm, lock, and unlk wires. those are wires needed to complete your security and keyless entry.
3. get a test light or DMM for testing wires.
4. for alarm/keyless entry only, test these wires located in your car, along w/ diagram as a guide:
--12volt constant input, door trigger, parking light, starter wire, ignition, disarm, lock, and unlk wires.
5. start plug and chug your new alarm.
good luck

I would recommend getting the security and keyless entry to work first. then confirm that both of it work. Also mounting the door lock actuator for the first time can be very tricky.
for power drlk, use this diagram:

After that, someone here or I will get you started on the RS.

DEI makes a remote start that is "safe" on manual transmissions? I would stay away from tests lights on todays vehicles if you probe the wrong wire you could cause some serious problems. IMO stick with a dmm for wire testing.

^I completely forgot about the MT on DEI.
if you decide to stick w/ DEI and use RS, then take it to a pro. i nor anyone on this board condone using units thats not made for.
