Install: DEI Clifford 50.5X Matrix
Vehicle: 1997 F-150 XLT (No bypass needed)
Hey all, I've read the other topics regarding the DEI remote starters and Fords starting then quitting after a certain period of time. My truck will do the same, it will start run anywhere from 1-5 min then quit as if the start sequence has shut down. The weather here right now is about -20 celcius and ive tried re-learning it from a cold start. From what i can tell the module thinks its over revving. This truck has no bypass needed.
I have the tach wire connected to a coil wire at the moment.
If i change the jumper to the tach sensing mode that is more sensitive, do i need to re-learn the tach?
Also, if getting the signal off the injector is better, does anyone know what color wire im looking for, and what should the jumper setting be on the module, also, will i need to re-learn it?
Thanks

dei products (like your clifford) seem to prefer the injector on ford vehicles. you can go to any injector and use the odd colored wire for tach

Try the default position first...
Yes, relearn the tach

After RS, how does the engine idle? There should be tach-threshold to shut off the RS if the RPM is too high or low(cant remember which).

Changed the tach wire to a injector wire today, and re-learned it.  Seems to have worked like a charm!  Called a local pro-install shop today too, they also said with the Fords they have been using injectors instead as it seems to be a common problem.
