I am trying to decide on what to get, I have it narrowed down to three different choices. First choice would be a  http://www.autopageusa.com/t_inside.cfm?action=products&catid=1004&prodID=fc4da653-7f35-48d8-9c9a-5f6fd435f2ac for $699 installed. Its a bit more than the others but it is a long known brand name. The next would be a  http://www.audiovox.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10001&storeId=10001&productid=14996&langId=-1 for $550 installed. My only problem with this is that it is made by audiovox, but they have improved their products lately. The third would be a   http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=JBS%2DCS%2D750R&N=700+401079+115&autoview=sku for about $550 installed. They all look like good deals, I just want to know if anyone has any experience with any of these. If it is worth it to spend the extra to get the more well known autopage alarm or would I be just as happy with one of the others. Thanks for any help guys, I just want to do this right the first time.

Go with the Audiovox aps997.
Of course, I am a little biased because I have been installing them for years. The quality is excellent. Autopage is supposed to be good. I have no idea about the Shelby unit.

Go with the Audiovox, top quality products. I have no idea who makes the Shelby unit and the Autopage units are not what I would consider high end. They work and I have never had one come back, but they are just chincy on things like wire size and the programming menus stink.

I also have my eye on a viper 791 installed at best buy for $500. It is the best price so far. and I have heard good things about the unit. I was leaning away from the shelby as well due to the fact I have never heard of it, and well the autopage was just overpriced, plus I had one before and did not like the quality of the remote. The prestige just worries me cause its an audiovox unit, but if you all say its decent then I still have some thinking to do.

well to hell with best buy, they say they have to add over $200 worth of extras to make it work. So it looks like it will be the prestige

I've installed Prestige and Pursuit (Audiovox) security products in my vehicles and I've installed hundreds, if not thousands, in my customers vehicles without any issues to speak of at all.

Some History: Audiovox got a bad name many years ago in the 70's, when they made cheap car radios & sold them @ discount department stores like KMart, etc. Most older people (40+), think the Audiovox name is cheap. Most younger people don't have that impression, because they weren't around. Audiovox has worked hard to eliminate that stigma. Naming thier products w/the Prestige & Pursuit names was part of this effort.

I love Audiovox/Pusuit/Prestige alarms & remote starts & have been using them exclusively for 15 years. I have had virtually no problems & I can count defective units on one hand. I have no reason to change. It's top quality. You can't go wrong with this product.

Good Enough Isn't!
