Would need to know some of the alarm models from high end names, that have a long range 2 way pager. I know most of them come with remote start but this will not be used at all. Pager is the main feature that I want and since I can't find anything as pager only (they all come as complete alarm system) will have to go with purchasing complete system.

DEI has the Viper 5900.

Compustar is going to be releasing the Pro P2WSSR mid March.

Installer, IT support, and FFL. I need less hobbies.

viper 5000....1 mile range 2-way pager ALARM...no remote start on this, just alarm. d.e.i. makes some of the best remote starters and alarms on the market and come with great warranties and tech support. 5900 is remote start/alarm combo unit.

I checked on Viper 5000 and notice that it has 1/4 mile range. Viper 5900 shows 1 mile range, this is with extra remote start feature that I don't need but no other choice. The reason I'm looking on a range is that my car is indoor parked about 200 yards away, need reception from there, could be that I'm asking for something that doesn't exist yet because the signal has to penetrate the wall. On DEI website noticed Clifford Matrix 50.5X model and according to their website this is top of the range this is in the same class as Viper 5900, any more info on this will be great.

I have the 5900 and it works thru the walls at where i work, i park well over 200 feet away from my car at times and i am still able to remote start etc. I used to have the 791xv then upgraded to the 5900 (same unit just with more range) and it works like a charm.

That is a good news and what I'm looking for.

Anyone can tell more about Viper 5900 and Clifford Matrix 50.5X? Would need to hear some more feedback.

Maybe wait, and check out Asian Wolf's New R/S Unit...It is supposed to have infinite/unlimited range due to it using satelite GSM technology. Its supposed to be CRAZY SICK! You should check it out on their website here... good luck..If you can wait til April...

Now that is very interesting, could this be the next standard in car security. Really if it performs as it shows in paper this could be the best out there.

Instead of Viper 5900 did get Clifford 50.5X, are they the same? Very happy with features of 50.5X in general, the pager remote range penetrate the walls too but no more than 100 yards, the claimed range is 1 mile and I guess this is under ideal conditions, not when the car is parked indoor like my case.

What's up with Compustar, i called them regarding P2WSS-R and they're back ordered until July. Think I will have to try this as well since Compustar claims the pager range from the brain to the remote is 2 miles. Just hope that this will be what I'm looking for. If this doesn't work than what next? Just sit and wait until something else better shows up...

The problem with the SIM card system of the Asian Wolf is that in rural areas the system is limited to celluar range of the carrier. I deal with a company that has fleet tracking and if the GSM fails to get a signal ( parking under ground or where the GPS antenna doesn't get a direct signal ) then the SIM ( cellular ) backup singal kicks into action. I live in an area where Rogers doesn't have good coverage and has troubles locking into a signal so this system will not work very well. If you live in a major center, then there's no problems but just keep in mind that if you ever travel with this to other parts of the country that your range and reception is only as good as the carrier for the SIM card.
