Has anyone heard this one: we put in a compustar remote starter into a 04 impala, 2 months ago, customer call today saying that only when she remote starts it from a distance the speedo will only register 10 miles an hour  after she takes off with the car. When remote started closer it works fine? and it only does this after she works night shift. It has only started doing this in the last 3 days. I am baffled, never seen or heard of this yet? Any ideas or should I tell her to get an exorcist.......

The distance from which she remote starts it has no effect on the car. Maybe the time between r/s it and her driving away has some effect.

I did not see any service notes about the clusters acting up on the impala (I work for a gm dealer).

I would take the car back in and check it out to see if maybe there is something you did wrong on it. Have her leave it and test it our yourself to try and duplicate the concern.

Well just got back inside from this car. We tested it from about 1000' feet 4 times no problems worked fine, we tested up close no problems. Let it run for 13 minutes (15 min max runtime) it worked fine. I am curious on this one because we have done several impalas for the dealership with no issues and they are wired exactly the same. She is going to drop the car off next week for a full day so we can test it. I am baffled to why this problem would not appear right away. When we figure it out I'll post it if we don't.........

Sounds like another "the tire is flat, must be the alarm" story.....

This what I am leaning towards. But I will test thoroughly to ensure my installation and product are not casuing the issue. I have started charging for these things when they are proven to be some other problem. We had a check engine light appear on a dodge ram that was done 9 mo. prior. Apparently the remote start caused the oxygen sensor to fail, I had it repaired and charged him for it04 chevy impala speedo doin what it wants -- posted image..

I figured I'd throw this post out there to see if anyone else had experienced this one.
