I have a customer who would like to me to install a remote start into his 2002 Lincoln LSE, I don't know much about the car except that it does have the factory alarm system installed.  He works across the street, so anything I need to find out about is easily done.

Ok, the problem is this.  I have never installed a remote start before, and only a few alarms, but this is something that I am trying to learn so that I can offer this service out of my  car audio shop.  Should I undertake this job, he knows that I have never installed one of these and he doesn't care about being my guinea pig.  The fact that this is a Lincoln kind of has me scared.  Should I go ahead and do this?  If I do, does anyone have any suggestions as to some of the more reputable brands of alarm/RS systems that I should look into. Any pointers into which direction to head into first would be very helpful.

Thanks in advance for your help.

A. No such car as a Lincoln LSE that I've heard of? Maybe it's a Lincoln LS?
B. The fact that it's a Lincoln, all by itself, isn't a big deal. Generally, Lincolns aren't much harder than Fords, just like an Acura isn't usually any more difficult than a Honda.
C. If it is indeed a Lincoln LS, well, those cars kinda suck to do. You can read one of the wiring diagtrams on here. Locks are inside the door, the parking light interface is complex, and the wires at the ignition switch are tight.
D. If you're up for a challenge, fine. Maybe you want to start with the hard stuff. If you'd rather get off to a slower start, find a few Toyotas or other Asian cars to do first.
E. Also, if it's an LS, you'll want to find out how many keys he has in total.
F. As for brands, I like Audiovox, but you'll get a lot of different answers here. Regardless, use one of the name-brand products, and buy somewhere where you won't get warranty hassles.......the no-name stuff from eBay or the flea market isn't worth the trouble.

Yes,,, there is such a car as the LSE,,,d/s, it is the only factory recognised mod,, it is simply a few little cosmetic additions to the car. There is a 2004, as well as a 2002 (LIKE MINE) so do not argue this fact.
