Did you actually work on a 2007 Impala, or just stumble upon the wiring info? How did you tie into the immobilzer? Is there a white and WHITE/ black wire in the ignition harness that needs to be tied into as well?
I'm actually going to be working on one of these soon for a friend of the family. She told me the dealer charged her an extra $30 for a Remote Start Preperation Harness or something like that when she bought the car. Sounds to me like she mentioned to the dealer she may be interested in getting a remote starter, so they put that extra harness in. Anyone have any idea what that harness does, and where exactly it is? Would be nice to know ahead of time if there is going to be something there to make my job easier.

Either they changed the impala after 1 year of the redesign (unlikely), or some of your info is off. Still helpful though. I believe the trunk trigger is actually ORANGE / black and the door trigger pins look right but not sure of the colors. If doing an alarm pull the panel off the left side of the dash and you will see the BCM with some plugs. I believe its the second plug in (purple?). Unplug that with the car off obviously, and look along the left side of that plug. There should be a gray/black at the top, and an ORANGE / black at the bottom. Gray/black is (+) and covers all your doors, and doesn't false. ORANGE / black is (-) and covers your trunk, and doesn't false.

If she already has the prep package installed, I believe all she would have to do is go to the dealer and order the new OEM remotes with the start button, get them programmed, possibly a BCM software upgrade and boom remote start. They of course would make her order a kit which comes with 2 remotes and a sticker to show that the car has the upgraded option. Also the dealer would need to do this you couldn't do it yourself. I think the prep package adds the hood pin and the extended range remote capability.

Anyone know any more details about the system that comes from the dealer? Typical price, as well as the range on the remotes?
