Hello all. I currently have a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad cab. I got a Viper 791XV installed on it just recently. I also bought a 530T window module for it and am ready to hunker down and attempt a "flawless" install. I am reaching out to see what kind of good advice you all can give me ahead of time. Keep in mind that my experience with alarms and add-ons is extremely limited so you have have to break it down to a novice-style for me. I looked on this website and got some real good information about the wiring diagrams/colors, etc. Is there anyone that can give me some better insight from personal experiences with the 2005 Dodge's or the 530T's? Thanks for all the help.

So, I would get the diagrams for both the car and the module and follow the two diagrams, should be easy to do, the 530T only does 2 windows just making sure you knew that, also you are going to have to run wires into the door from that cab so be prepared for some fun with that..

Thanks for the quick reply. What I'm actually planning on doing is just, say for instance, find the stock wires that goes to the driver window up/down and connecting it to the 530T's window up/down wires. I'll do that for the driver up/down and the passenger up/down. After that I'll connect the 530T's 12V and Ground where feasible and connect the 530T's plug into the Viper brain. Am I on the right track?
From what I gather, I'll mount the 530T into the driver kick panel and run the wire(s) to the drivers door only. The remaining wires (based on the colors of the Dodge wiring diagram) will be spliced into the 530T at the kick panel. It sounds simple, but am I setting myself up for failure or added expenses?

Also, will I be needing any diodes or relays? I have a feeling I'm making this harder than what it really is going to be. Thanks.

No diodes will be needed.  be sure not to mount the unit until the wiring is done and the unit is tested because you must adjust the treshold dip switches on the module so that the unit will know when to stop rolling up and/or rolling down.  these can be a little time consuming to set right but being a newer truck there should not be too much resistance on the motor, so you may get lucky and hit on the first try.
Where theres is a wire there's a way.

Thanks. This brings me to another obstacle; I really don't understand the concept of dip switches and resistance. Can you simplify if for me? Also, how do sensitivity settings relate to the 530T? I've seen it before where you can adjust sensitivity on the 530T but I have no clue what it means. The only verbage I know on that topic is shock sensors.
Thanks a million, you guys. I knew I should have learned up on this sooner. I've been installing audio systems for years but don't have the slightest clue when it comes to the alarms!

Check the last few pages of the 530t install manual.  There is some good info on the dip switch settings.  More explaination in the Troubleshooting section.

An older bigger window motor will be rather inefficient, using much more current while in motion than, say a new Toyota Corrola window motor.  When any window reaches full up or down, the motor suddenly will use much more current, due to increased load on the motor trying to overcome this new obstacle.  The 530t "sees" this current spike and shuts off the motor(s).  Use a higher dipswitch setting for bigger, less efficient motors, since they use higher current while in motion.   Also,  dipswitch 1 & 2 control settings for the left motor, 3 & 4 control the right side.  Switch 5 controls the Switch Input Polarity. ( + or - )  This is the polarity of the vehicles window switches.  If the switch wires pulse + when pressed, set Switch 5 to +.         Hope this is helpful.
