I installed a Code Alarm CA670 in my 2004 Mitsubishi Evo this weekend.  Every thing seems to be working as it should.  I have an external turbo timer already installed so I want to be able to use it and the alarm together.  That part is easy for me as I have programmed an auxillery chip for the turbo timer to "tell" the alarm when it turns the engine off so the alarm can then arm the system.  I know there is a turbo timer feature in this alarm, but its set to 5 minutes and mine varies based on how I drive, so it may only need to run for 10 seconds or it may need to run for 10 minutes.  Either way I want to use both.  I have that part figured out except for one minor detail ca670 manual arm -- posted image.

On the CA670 there is a blue wire with a red stripe that is said to be the Manual Arm wire.  The installation manual says; "This wire wil ARM the security system when a POS or NEG pulse is applied to it from an external device."

Now I assumed this meant if I just showed it ground for a second it would arm.  Well I tried grounding the wire by hand and that didn't get me anywhere.  Does it need to see a change in state from low to high or high to low or does it actually need to see some sort of waveform?  or a fixed pulse of ground-open-groun-.... for a certain amount of time?

Anyone know?  What sort of accessories out there is this wire used for? That may help.

The manual arm/disarm wires are supposed to be used for using the factory keyless entry remotes to control the aftermarket alarm.
Typically, you'd connect the "manual arm" wire to to the car's wire that goes to the power doorlock motor.
On most typical cars, this wire would rest at ground, and go to positive while locking the doors.
First, just try jumping momentary positive power by hand, and see if that arms the alarm.
Also, for the alarm to arm, the car's ignition has to be off. If the turbo timer puts out its "shutdown" signal to the alarm's "manual arm" input too quickly, if might not arm..........if it's possible, set it up so that this happens a moment AFTER the turbo timer turns the car's ignition off.

Well your partially correct :)

This particular alarm has a factory arm and disarm and a manual arm and disarm.  Four seperate wires.  I should have specified.  I tried ground and nothing and thats what I really wanted to use, but I did dtry jumping +12 to it when I got home today and it armed the alarm so I will just put a couple changes in my logic so it uses the +12 instead of gnd or use a relay. 

I'll definately make sure there is a momentary delay in when the power is turned off and the alarm is armed.  For some reason I forgot about that ;)

Now on to figuring out how I can leave it running via the turbo timer (external from alarm) and use the alarm keyfob to lock the doors.  It only wants to let me if I use its turbo timer.  Maybe I will allow mine to send it a signal to turn on its (ground parking brake wire) and then when its time to shutdown before 5 minutes I will send it a brake pedel signal and then arm it.....  hmmm....  sometimes I just wish my brain would shut off and I would be happy the way things are.
