I am in the middle of installing remote start system on a 2007 Honda Odyssey EX-L. I was looking into putting a bypass kit like the XK510. This unit stated it can control all the options I need and also work as a transponder to bypass my immobilizer. Today I placed an order with http://www.powercallsirens.com. The XK510 was price at 71.20 which was cool but after placing the order I got this response....

Thank you for your order. Unfortunately, the XK510 is not available at this time. The manufacturer has completely re-built this item due to earlier software issues. The price due to this upgrade has gone up tremendously due to this. The current price for this is $135.90. If you would still like this item, please let me know and I can charge the additional. We are expected to have this in stock by the middle of next week.

My questions are...

1. Is the XK510 available? isn’t the firmware upgradeable for free?

2. Does this unit come with the USB connector for future upgrades?
3. I am also looking into CAN-SL2... any remarks on this product? I did a search on this site found that some installers had issues where the unit will not work sometimes. Only problem I see is that it does not have a transponder built in (combo kit).

Thanks,

Mark

Your getting taken for a ride, we sell these for $ 100 Cdn and have no troubles so far with it. Thismodule does have the 232 port for internet connectivity. The CANSL2 is a bypass and interface module. We've used these on new VW Jetta's & Honda's without problems.

thanks for the response Jeff, so this! unit will bypass my immobilizer... Does the CAN-SL2 require a key? Also what's the difference between the CAN-SL2 and the CAN-SL2i? While I was reading up on it, I couldn't understand the differences between both and also if it has priority drivers unlock.

The CANSL2 has the 2 way datalink and the CANSL2i only has the 1 way datalink. The 2 way datalink does more in the way of functions for various vehicles such as sliding doors options on vans. This is an Immobilizer bypass as well as a door lock interface with all the options for alarm triggers and tach output as well. These do not have the drivers door priority option though.

I just finish installing the idatalink ADS-DL on a 2007 Odyssey. Everything went well but the idatalink LED keeps flashing red. I tried to reset the unit by pressing the program button while inserting the 4pin into the unit but still no luck. The LED on the idatalink just keeps flashing red. Is their anything I should do? I cant even program it!

Thanks..

Remove all harnesses on the ADS-DL and while inserting the 4 pinpower harness hold the programing button until the LED flashes. Release the button at that point and you will have a flashing GREEN LED and press it until you get the LED to flash at you 2 times for standard wiring and once for 232 wiring ( depending on the remote start I suggest using the 232 ... much easier ).
Once you have the wiring selected, press the programming button until the LED starts flashing quickly and release. It is now ready to go into program mode. Hook up the remaining harnesses and turn the key over into the ON position and the LED will flash from red to green and when programmed will go out. Module is ready to go. Try to remote start the vehicle.
