I have a 01 civic with electric door locks but no keyless entry. However, I have programmable remotes and the in-dash receiver unit from an EX for the keyless entry to hook-up. Can someone please tell me where the following 4 wires (12 volt always on, 12 volt switched, data line, and ground) fit on the 5 pin receiver unit?  It should be easy for someone to help me.

Unplug your unit located behind the cigarette lighter, and measure the voltage of the four wires going to the unit at the plug on the cable that plugs into it. One will be always 12 volts, 12 volts switched (with the ignition key), and ground which can then be measured with an ohm meter to the car. The remaining pin must be the data cable.

Therefore:  what wire goes to what Keyless unit pin? 1,2,3,4,5)  One of the pins on the keyless receiver is unused.

wire 12 volt on
wire 12 volt switched
wire data
wire ground

Thanks so much!

The factory alarm module is located in the drivers kick. (or it should be anyways) if you don't have on on your car, the plug(s) should be there!

Kar Tuneman - thanks for the response. However, the key fob remote receiver is not directly part of the factory alarm module. Although you cannot install a factory alarm module without the key fob radio receiver being present, you can have a key fob receiver (to lock and unlock the doors) without the Factory Alarm. What I am asking for his actually the colors of the wires/electrical description of the 4 wires and how they connect to the 5 pin key fob receiver module that is located behind the 12 Volt accessory plugs, center lower dashboard. This device is about the same size of a regular auto relay. black body, and green connector area.
