viper 791 xv stopped working properly

I have a viper 791xv in my 98 Jeep Grand Cherokee. It has been in there for about 2 years and I have had no problems until yesterday. I was going to play basketball with one of my roommates and when I got out and shut my door I locked/armed the alarm (whatever you wanna call it) but my roommate hadn't closed his door so I quickly unlocked it because in the past when this happens the alarm sometimes goes off when the other door gets shut. Before he shut it I unlocked it. So now the system was unarmed and the doors were closed. At this point I locked it but the system never chirped to signify it had been armed, but I just went to play basketball. When I came back it also didn't chirp when I unlocked it and the blue light was not flashing to show that it was armed. Now after messing with it this afternoon it appears something is very wrong. The remote still unlocks the system and the remote start works, but the alarm does not work at all. I tried locking it and pounding on the Jeep and got nothing. As of this afternoon when my Jeep is off the blue light is constantly on and not blinking... Do you think that maybe the system fried itself or is there a chance that the combo of what I did turned off the alarm or something strange. I went through the instruction book and there is no sort of option that I could have turned on or off based of what I did. Thanks for any help or suggestions.

You put your alarm in valet mode via the remote. Open the door, press lock/unlock/lock, the LED will extinguish and allow you to arm the alarm again. This is also covered in your owner's manual on page 26 in better detail.Installer, IT support, and FFL. I need less hobbies.

thats the most common problem i've seen with the vipers, is people put it into valet mode and dont know that they did...
