Question for all you electrical gurus. I have a 1990 Porsche S2 Cabriolet. The convertible top is electric and goes up and down via button on the center console. However, I have to hold the button down to let it fully go up and down. I wanted to set it so that I just push and release the button and itll continue all the up/down on its own. Can I install some sort of capicitor or some other device that will allow me to send power to the button after i let it go?

what happens if you continue to push the button, after the top stops moving? Does the top motor shut off, or does it continue to try and "work"

It stops because there is a microswitch at the motor that limits its movement after a certain point.
