I put a DEI Valet 561r in a 2006 Ford E350 Van. Hooked up is fdoor locks and remote start. The problem is when remote started sometimes the van will shutoff after 10 minutes and restart. The program runtime is 12 min. The shutdown diagnostics says it is the +/- shutdown wire. The two wires aree not hooked up. The only way to activate remote start is with the Valet remote. The tach wire is not hooked up. It is on voltage sense and I have changed the The voltage from high to low and the same thing happens. What could the problem be- I am totally stumped. Everything seems to be wired properly. It has been in for a year now and started giving a problem within the last 2 weeks. Does anybody have any ideas of what is going on?
Thanks- chris

if you havent already check ALL connections, also you might want to swith to tach, or if you cant try adjusting the the voltage sense, put it on high, try it out that way, also +/- shutdown wire? which wire are you referring to? the gray hoodpin, brake, BLACK/ white?

it says the shutdown is the WHITE/ blue or the WHITE/ red i think. I have changed the crank time to 1 sec and have switched from high sense to low sense and still the same problem. I want to change to tach but it is a royal pain to get to an injector wire in that van. Anything else? If i have to ill run a tach wire. I just cant figure out why it runs for the 12 mins and restarts itself when it times out of the 12 mins.

also- can i get the tach signal behind the instrument cluster?- that would be a lot easier to do. can someone tell me which wire to look for- if not ill test all and see what reads as a tach signal.

It may be a faulty 561r.  The white.blue wire requires 2 pulses to turn off the remote start and the RED / white wire is an extra channel(trunk release).  If it really was the WHITE/ blue wire then you would assume its receiving a 2 negavite pulses which i dont see happening.  Another thing you can check is the hood pin.  Try using another 561r and see if it gives you the same result.

i have swapped the module- same thing. There is no hoodpin hooked up right now and no shutdown switch- it is just grounded. Cant be those. I find it hard that the activation wires aree getting two pulses when all taped up and not touching ground or anything.
there arre two activation wires
WHITE/ blue- neg pulse
WHITE/ red- pos. pulse
RED / white- neg trunk release

Tachometer

The PCM is under the hood, next to the brake master cylinder.

Sounds like there is something else goin on, but here's the tach info.

there are so many wires going there and they are so tight it is hard to strip some insulation. Can i go behind the cluster?

WHITE/ red and WHITE/ blue are both activation and deactivation wires, make sure neither one is touching metal or something that could be sending pulses to shut down the remote start, which is probably not the case since it seems the vehicle shuts off at the same time every time. try a tach signal generator from bypasskit.com. i agree with mikvot though sounds like something else going on.
