i have an 03 dodge 1500 that i put a compustar 3000a remote start and security system my problem is that i can get the remote start to program and work but as soon as the vehicle is left over night the bypass seems to loose its memory. I've tried using 3 or 4 different bypass and all turn out the same way. so i'm clueless as to what couyld be the problem so neones advice would be appreciated.

Hey, Gary here. Are you guys using the computech support? The on line tech info! Mike told me you talked to tech support, and they had nothing for you....? Thats does not sound good, they should have "some" idea's as to where to start looking for the problem,

where are you located? is the bypass getting really cold sitting outside? that could be the problem

The guys are in eastern washington state.....not too cold right now!

weather is about 80degrees so i dont think cold is a factor. Well we called tech support and i did what they recommended and it works fine when it leaves the shop but the customer goes to start it in the morning it wont stay running. And everything that we have tried works for the day but as soon as it sits for a while it looses it memory . And today i tried a different ground and power and still no luck.

Is the unit set for tach sence, or volt (or whatever it's called, I always use a tach) The tach is different when the engine is cold, than when its warm. I would check this. The unit is NOT loosing any "memory" If it was, it would need to be re-programmed everytime it failed. I would check your tach/voltage setting. You start it with the key, the engine warms, then remote startis lees of a problem. (just a thought).

Well we called tech support and i did what they recommended and it works fine when it leaves : What is it they told you to do....just so we don't repeat ourselves?

Have you tried a different remote start brain? Connector 2 pin 2 for bypass trigger. If your using tach method, were did you get the signal?

Are there any FAIL codes on a compustar? On the Astro units, if it does not start, the LED will give you a certain count of flashes....(fail code)

my question was if he actually used three or 4 different model bypasses, or just 3 or 4 of the same ones.
