installed matrix 3.5(manufactured at least 1 year ago, the ones where the RS harness has a connector in the middle) 2 way alarm into 98 prelude. Eveything worked great for him for several months.

Now:

alarm often does not respond to remote

door locks cycle or pulse the lock or unlock more than once

you can hear a ticking sound form the brain sometimes, like a small relay clicking over and over again

sometimes it will RS, sometimes it doesnt do anything.

----------

I have swapped the brain out with no change

Ground and power connections test well.

? could it have anything to do with a bad remote?

any suggestions/ experiences would help

thanks in advance

Un plug the antenna for a while then plug it back in to reset it,but i would check the grounds also if yr wires to the pw/L are well insulated? these are good alarms only problem remotes are delicate..

Use a meter and check voltages from lives to grounds, door locking could be that it is sensing an open door (check this) if car is auto is it getting correct stand off feeds from footbrake, reverse. recheck tach(although if tach is out it will either start and run for 15 secs or starter will grind) if stick shift check parking brake switch goes to ground when pulled up and vice-versa. I've come across 1) Disintegrated parking (hand)brake switch on Vauxhall (Opel) Vectra, Renault Clio where original tail light assemblies were changed for LEDs and there was a 2 volt draw at rest holding off a Solaris IV
