Hello.
   WEll, here's my story..
I was going to make my friends windows automatically go up and down with his car alarm remote..   so anyway.. i opened up his door panel and started testing wires to see which ones i was gonna cut. so i decided to just start with the front two. (Just to go up for now)..   so i found the correct wires and all.. cut them, and then connected the two ends to a relay, so it was like it was never cut.. well anyway.. i decided to send live power to one end to test and see if this will make the window roll up.. (which it did) but at the same time, i got a burnt smell in the "window switch" (the driver window buttons that control all windows from that side.)
The window still rolled up, so I was like, cool. but then I noticed that now the driver side window will not go down, (BTW I only tested the driver side window first) . So now i'm in a pickle! :)   I thought that maybe it was the whole window switch, but a friend of mine has the same kind of car and we swicthed the window switch with his and still no luck. :(   So if some one has any idea, please lemme know. Thanks! BTW
The Car is A 1999 Chrysler 300M V6 3.5L.

thats the thing.. i never started to mess with it.. as soon as the window didn't go down, i stopped and put everything back to normal, but still not able to roll the window down.. maybe the window regulator?

Do the other three windows work?  How exactly did you wire the relay and what wire color did you wire it in to?

It sounds like you ran 12vdc directly back in to the window switch (rests at ground).  If you did this, it would have burnt the traces off of the circuit board (if there is a board).  Since the system rests at ground there isn't a fuse to protect it.

However, since you swapped out the switch I would say that that isn't the case.  What you need to do is make sure both window wires REST at ground still.  Then, one wire at a time, make sure there is 12vdc on the up and down wire for that window.
