Ok I am trying to put in a new keyless entry in my 04 Acura MDX because I refused to pay $500 to replace my defective, out of warranty, OEM system. So far to have got the unlock to work but not the lock. They are neg. pulse locks. I upload a pic of the wire harness diagram. Can anyone make sense to it so I can finish. I stumped. Thankswiring nightmare, 04 acura mdx -- posted image.

Ok here you go,

Orange and ORANGE / black  -  Don't use

Yellow and yellow/black  - Ground

White - goes to car's unlock wire - blue/orange in passanger side fuse panel top green plug.

WHITE/ black - goes to car's unlock wire - BLACK/ orange in the same plug as above.

here is a web site that has your wireing guide with pictures.  it also shows your disarm wire if your car has a factory alarm as well.  If you need help with that let us know

Also, if you do need to run a disarm wire into the drivers door because your car has a factory alarm - read this how to:

Well I got the system installed and it works great. Now for the factory alarm. Now I know the location of the factory alarm, arm and disarm wire, is in the door. Is it as simple to run a wire from the arm wire spliced into the lock wire from the system and visa versa for the disarm/unlock or is there more to it? Do I need to fuse the connections?

first figure out if you even need to.....try locking the car with the remote and waiting about a minute. Leave the drivers window rolled down...now reach in and open the car. If the horn honks repeatedly it means it was successfully armed. Now lock the car again (with the remote), leave it for a minute, and then unlock it with the remote and open the door. If the horn does not sound you do not need to bother with those wires.

if you do have a factory alarm, you will need to run 2 wires into the door.  1 to arm and 1 to disarm.

arm - blue/white, pin 6 - in drivers door(power window switch)

disarm -   BLACK/ red to blue, pin 16 - same location as above

To test if you have a factory alarm on that car:

1) Open drivers side window

2) Close door and lock the doors using the key cylinder on the outside of the drivers door.

3) Wait about a minute

4) reach inside the car window and unlock the door from the inside and open the door

5) If an alarm goes off, you have an alarm. If not, you don't have to worry about the wires inside the door and you aregood to go.

I tried that. The security light at the door doesn't blink, nor when I lock the car with the system and open the door through the window, does the alarm sound.

...and I splice these wires into the respective lock/unlock wires of my system? Do I need to fuse them?

well, 2 things.

1st you do not need to fuse them.

2nd you can split up your door lock wires, but you will need to diode isolate each wire.  this means 2 diodes for lock, 2 for unlock. the white bands on the diode need to face the keyless entry module for a 4 diodes.
