I just installed a Viper 7900 alarm into my 96 Civic. The manual said not to install the main power wire 12v fuse until the satellite relay was hooked up, but of course I accidentally did just that. I heard a popping sound from the brain. Now I cant get the alarm to work at all. The only thing that happens is the doors lock when I turn the car on and they unlock when I turn it off. I'd hate to have to pay someone to fix something that doesnt need to be. Thanks.

Sounds like something is working, since the ignition detect doorlocking/unlocking is working the way it should. The popping you heard in the brain were probably the internal relays clicking a few times. What exactly is not working about this alarm?

Does the keyfob work (viper keyfob)?

Remote start functionality? Did you tach learn the brain?

You can always remove the two fuses and reseat them and see if that helps anything.

The fob doesnt activate. What I should have said was the door lock/unlock is the only thing that works. Shouldnt the alarm at least turn on when power is connected? Ill double check all the fuses tomorrow.

I left the remote start disconnected because I dont need it, and I didnt do tach learning either. I probably should have gone with a lower model but oh well.

What about the alarm should turn on? Are you saying your siren/horn output isn't going off?? You don't hear any audible signals?

Right. No chirps or anything. No light flash. The locks wouldnt work unless the alarm had power, right?

correct. I would check your parking light wire connection, as well as your siren/horn wire connection.

I think your alarm brain probably works just fine, but your wiring (connections) may be slightly off.
