lost keys, push button start?

I lost the keys to my 96 maxima SE. I did some research and I am pretty positive that I "hotwired" the car correctly so that it would start when    I connect the accesory wires ign. etc., and push a button switch connected to the starter motor wires. I got everything working (accesories, car in "start" mode), but when i touch the starter wires to the 12v+ nothing happens. I did some more reading and learned about starter interuppters. I think this is the case because as soon as i connect the battery to the car the alarm goes on. Is there anyway I can disarm/bypass the alarm system? If so, where do I find the actual alarm unit? Thank you

Hmmm... if you lost the keys, the presumably you lost the keyfobs as well?  How did you get into your car if you lost your keys and keyfobs?

Your SE may have an engine immobilizer, which requires the actual key (transponder chip is embedded in the plastic of the actual Nissan key).  If that's the case, you need to get your car towed to Nissan, and have them outfit your vehicle with a new set of keys and a new immobilizer chipset (may also be done via Nissan programming).

and you cannot just buy an immobilizer bypass unit, b/c you'll need an actual key to program the bypass unit.

My car is 11 years old and they only keep the key codes for 10 years, wish I lost them a year ago. I got into my car by prying the door with a flathead enough to get a coat hanger inside. I used the hooked end to pull the lock open. The alarm's been on ever since. I would have a locksmith make me new keys but I really have $0 to spend and I really need to get my car going without spending money

To be quite honest, I have no idea how you'll bypass the immobilizer without having Nissan re-program or re-issue (keys).  This is MORE than a locksmith just cutting you new keys -- it's a computer chip that emits a radio signal and it's embedded in the head of the factory nissan key.  This radio signal communicates with a receiver around the key cylinder on the steering column and de-activates those starter interupts you've read about.

You can disconnect the positive terminal of the battery (at least) to deactivate the factory alarm.  Leave it disconnected for at least 10 minutes

is there anyway I could just remove the starter interrupts? I have a basic idea on how relays work, but not really on what I have to do to get around these particular ones.

Do you remember what the original key looked like? Was the head of the key thin or fat? metal or plastic?
Even if you do hotwire the car to start it, that's not going to get you around the steering wheel lock.
I would call up some local locksmiths......most likely, you could remove the lock cylinder from one of the doors, bring it to them, and have them cut you another key.
At the worst (assuming the car doesn't have an immobilizer key), you could always buy and install a used steering column (with keys) from a junkyard.

my question is... even if you bypass the immobilizer (which will not be an easy task... if it is even possible... most immobilizers go through the computer). But even if you do get that far, what are you going to do about the steering wheel lock? I would have to say good luck with getting it unlocked w/out having to break apart your steering column. Honestly, I would have to say that it would be much more worth while to get the money and have a new key made... and make a couple extras too.

well your factory arm and disarm are through your lock and unlock. Why dont you try to pulse your unlock wire to shut off the alarm. But that doesnt solve your case for driving the car. Theres no way possible for you to drive it unless you have a transponder. Which you dont. do yeah. your screwed dude. call a locksmith is your only chance. NOTE if you break the sterring lock. it will cost you more money in the future to fix. I KNOW!
