2003 range rover/bmw door triggers

Does anyone know where to get a signal for the door triggers in a 2003 Range Rover? I'm guessing it would be the same method as a later model (similar year range) BMW 5 series car or X5. Will something like a CAN Bus module work for that? I looked up the wiring in Directtechs and so far it's been right about everything except for the door triggers. The wire it says to use doesn't seem to do anything upon opening any doors in the truck. Anyone work on one of these yet?2000 BMW 540i 6 speed

That's the same thing directtechs said. When I found the wire and metered it, the wire didn't change voltage when the door was opened. Any ideas?2000 BMW 540i 6 speed

This is evilly complicated, door contacts are NOT like BMW, there is a body control box under drivers' seat (R/H drive models) and you will find them there, all I remember is a very traumatic install, no disasters just loads of head scratching and tears. Could try domelight, especially if it shuts down with door lock, (DON'T EVEN GET INTO THAT). If it's like a BMW, X5 RED / blue with POS switching.

Well we got to the door locks in the driver's door module, just like Directtechs said. You're saying the dome light is the RED / blue wire? Is it in the body module under the driver's seat? Did you use the door triggers from there when you did an install in an X5? Did the triggers work as expected, no delay or anything? Do you know if the triggers are pos or neg switching? X5  uses RED / blue POS trigger (actually it's not a trigger it's the processor output to dome, floor lights etc.). This shuts down on locking. Locks on X5 same as 5, i.e. in driver's door, NEG switching. Friends in the trade who are unlucky enough to work regularly on Range Rovers tell me you HAVE to install a slave i.e. 2 wire motor in driver's door to lock vehicle.

Dunno, ain't done the course Mister, seriously apart from the odd phone kit I rarely come across Range Rovers. They are so damned expensive here in UK take the US price and double it, even for UK made product. Done far more BMW. That wire could be either factory arm/disarm or deadlock trigger.
