Hey guys. After a few hours of tinkering with the window modulators today in the shop I finished the drivers side but didn't have time to run wires to the passenger side.
Ive gotten two different answers from two people. With the CL it has one touch on the drivers side but not the passenger. Is it required to run the wires to the passenger side or can I catch them in the master switch on the drivers side? the guys at Direct Tech had a different answer each time I talked to them.
My other question was the Factory Disarm No Unlock. Currently every time I lock the vehicle and wait about 5 minutes and remote start it the factory alarm goes off. I know I need to disarm it and Direct Wire shows the wires to be a BLACK/ red. I tapped this wire but got no luck. Is it required to cut this wire and tie into one end, or just splicing in should do the job?
Hope these questions are not to newbish. This is my first time messing with a Factory disarm.
Thanks everyone,
Sean

i would definetely go into the passenger door for it.  It makes it much more easier when you know its there instead of hoping it would work on the master switch.  As for the unlock, did you go into the door??  In order to make sure you got the right wire you would meter the wire.  It will have voltage on it ,..lets say over 5v.  When you turn the key to the unlock it will drop down to 0v.  Im assuming your using a DEI alarm.  Sometimes the wire that you have may not have enough current to disarm it.  Get a relay and connect a good ground source to that wire.  If anything it does not hurt double pulsing it either.

Yea. I did go in the door for the disarm. I grabbed the wire right before it went up to the key cylinder like it said. Im gonna to take it back apart on friday and run the wires to the passenger side and also see if I can fix the disarm.

I had a similar problem with a '99 Accord disarm (no unlock) ..

I snagged a blue wire at the key cylinder in the driver's door and only connected it to the -250mA disarm wire of a Compustar .. and it would 50% of the time disarm the car, and 50% of the time not disarm it .. i think it was that the grounding signal straight from the compustar wire wasn't strong enough -- using a relay with a good chassis ground is the way to go.

the last 03 CL-S i did, a buddy of mine owns it, was disarm permanently.
The work was free so i was too lazy to run the wire into the door. I simply bridge the ground wire to the disarm. This is was 2-3yrs ago and he still owns it.

So by basically grounding the Disarm wire it will disarm it permanently?

It's not a proper way of disarming but thats the way i did it.

The car won't start by remote? How did you bypass the transponder key?
