Hi all, awesome informative forum you have here!
I have a quick question about my 1998 Nissan Primera/Infiniti G20 (P11 series)
I intend to fit an alarm to the car that I purchased a while back (Pageguard PG-8500s) but the original factory NATS imobilser stops the car from working on remote start!
I've heard it is possible to remove/bypass the NATS system, as I don't want to have to leave my keychip taped to the ignition barrel or something.
If anyone can give me any insight on how to to this it would be greatly appreicated!
The car is in 1000 parts ATM as I am doing a lot of work to it, so the interior and engine wiring looms are both out of the car and I have been inspecting them etc but I'm still very confused!
Thanks in advance for any help, Liam

*Edit* I forgot to mention, with me doing an engine swap the Nats appears to have activated 24/7 now? As it won't allow the engine to spark...
The guy who did the wiring for me assured me the Nats was disabled, but when I have removed the engine some time later I discovered this is not the case!

im a nissan tech, and you cannot remove the nats system if you do your ecm will not get the code to send ground to your starter.

and nats does not shut off its always on when you turn your key the signal goes through the antena ring to the nats controler it verifies the key is registered and then send a signal to the ecm the ecm then grounds the starter and you can start your car.

dont belive anyone unless they actually work for a dealer or know what the hell there talkin about,

feel free to ask me questions

Cheers for the quick reply dude. I know a lad who has done two previous SR20DET swaps into P10/P11s that he has owned and both have had remote start but he wouldn't say how he had bypassed the NATS or whatever he done!
Both cars had transponder keys too!
What do you suggest I could do mate? Any ideas?
Thanks, Liam

Just another quick thought (no edit button on this forum?!)
I had the alarm 1/2 installed with a previous ecu/engine combo and the starter turned, just the car would not spark.
Forgive me if I'm being stupid - auto electrics not my strng point - but does the NATS kill the starter signal usually or can it also kill the spark/injectors?

you will need to have your key programmed to the new ecm by a nissan scan tool

Thanks for the reply, will I have to do this even if I were to tape the transponder chip to the ignition barrel?
Something I don't want to do, but I really want to override this damn thing seeing as I have my car stripped so bare ATM.
Maybe I should find some scum mustard car thief and ask him how to do it! lol
As said above, I know this is possible but finding information sure isn't!
Thanks again, Liam

Been searching online now all night :( It seems the only NATS that can be bypassed is V1 whereas the P11 series like I have has V2.

call a nissan dealer and ask them how much it would be to get them to code the key to the new ecm. they might even come out to you for a small fee. also some locksmiths have the necessary equipment to program keys call some
