Ok, so we installed the remote start on my uncles 98 Monte Carlo...it's got the ignition key with the little chip or whatever in it, the one you can see on the key. How do I bypass that, I spoke with a friend who said you need to put a resistor with the same resistance as the key on a relay somewhere, but he wasn't exactly sure where. The remote start works fine if we leave the key in the ignition, so I assume this is the only problem. How do we make it work? Thanks!

Thank you for the diagram..I got a relay, but on the relay I have the 87 and 87a are always connected...wouldn't this be the same as just putting a resister in between the two wires bypassing the VATS permanetly? Do I need a different relay? To me it seams I'd need a relay where the 30 and 87a were connected at rest, and when you powered it, it would switch to connect the 30 and 87 and there would have to be no continuity between the 87 and 87a. If that's the case, where can i get a relay like that? The local auto parts stores only have the kind i have where there is always continuity between 87 and 87a.
