Hi. I installed a prestige remote starter into a 2003 honda accord. The fellow I installed it for called to tell me that it no longer starts when the car is cold ( sounds like tach was not learned properly) and the doors often do not unlock with the remote.
a) Is there more than one place to get the tach( I seem to remember fuel injectors being hard to get to on this one) and
b) What kind of door lock system is this?
Thanks

A ) The ECM/PCM is on the front of the transmission tunnel.  The connectors are on the passenger side.  On the 4 cylinder models the tach wire is in the white 31 pin connector E, pin 25.  On the 6 cylinder models it is in the gray connector A, pin 23. The colors are BLUE/RED or BLUE

B ) (-) Type A system

I don't think it's a tach problem unless the starter is dragging after it runs. Check to make sure that the Immobilizer bypass is operating properly that you installed. The key may have moved out of the ribbons chip sensing spot in the module.

Is he still trying to unlock and lock the doors with the factory remote while the car is remote started? If so, this is not possible, and thats why its not working. You'll either have to hook up an aftermarket keyless setup for him, or explain to him that he must shut off the remote start before attempting to use the factory remote to lock and unlock the doors

No. Although the problem is only while the car is running, the keyless system was added with the remote starter (prestige aps-685).
