I just bought a 2007 yukon, and I want to have my clifford xl-100 installed on it (removed it from my 2000 explorer before trading).  My question is this: the yukon has factory remote start.

1. can the xl-100 be installed on this vehicle properly with the factory remote start usable?

2. will the remote starting of the vehicle trigger the shock alarm?

Thanks in advance,

Pharoahwen

Use a 1701g by DEI...when the your aftermarket system triggers the remote start which should not trigger the factory alarm and will also shunt certain triggers.  shunt=disable

Thanks!  Does this model use the factory key fob?  If not, does the alarm itself trigger the factory remote start?

No it does not use the factory key fob.

Lets just say its you install a viper 5900(a popular one) in your vehicle. This system is a alarm/remote start unit.  In your cause you would just connect the alarm portion and  you then would trigger a wire from the 1701g that would activate your factory remote start.  The range would be 1 mile and you would have a 2-way system.  Not only does the 1701g have a "remote start input" but it would also give you door triggers, locks etc.....  This should be a very very easy install and would keep the vehicle looking very clean under the dash.
