Hi
Does anyone know how the window closer works on a 1997 3 series I have fitted an aftermarket remote locking kit to it and want to use the window closer but am unsure about connect to pin 4 on the central locking control box as it says something about the kit using a negative pulse can anyone explain how this works as I don’t want to blow up the control box
Thanks
Derek

You extend the lock pulse on pin 4 if it is a1n E36, 7 secs for a 3door, 12-15 for a 5door.

Sorry, PS Lock and unlock are both pos on an E36 your kit should accomodate this, if use a timer / relay to invert polarity and lock and a relay to unlock.

It is made by a company called: Right Click, model: KE50 Remote Keyless Entry for central lock, You can see it on there website http://www.rclick.co.uk/remote-keyless-entry-central-lock-ke50-p-232.html
but it doesn't have a relay with it so i guess i will have to order one as the kit is a negative pulse
Thanks
Derek

I checked the spec on their site, it looks like that model has everything you want, you shouldn't need a relay or a timer, go to the installation mode where you have pos lock and unlock and extend the lock pulse to close windows and roof, assuming E36 3 series. If you run a diode (4100 type) from the close wire to the unlock wire with band towards unlock, it will also deadlock the vehicle.

Hey howie ll
Thanks for all the help I took it all apart today again and tested the window closer wire with a multimeter and sure enough it turns to a negative when I push the button on the remote so I guess I need a relay for it so I will get one first thing on Monday and fit it, Once again thanks for all your help
Derek
