I'm installing a compustar 2W900FM-S and am having problems with the lock and unlock.  It is on an 2001 Oldsmobile Alero.  I used a 1500 ohm resistor and relays and nothing is happening.  Is there any way to test the lock and unlock wires coming from the brain to see if there is anything wrong with the wire?  Or any other suggestions to what could be the problem.

You need to use a dmm and test the output wires on the compustar. Disconnect them from the vehicle wires and set the meter to ohms and measure the resistance to ground or test for voltage if there is any voltage on the wires than the transistorized output on the compustar is blown where did you get the unit from?

When I test the wires with the dmm set to ohms it reads about 1.9 for the unlock wire and about 2.3 for the lock wire.  Voltage is only about 0.01 or so on each wire.  I got the unit off of ebay.

I'm pretty sure they are correct, they don't click though.  I used this diagram to wire them.  http://64.85.6.129/extrainfo/diagrams/26500_ALERO_ALERO%201%20WIRE%20JBS%20UNITS.pdf

As long as you followed the diagram that is what is needed. If you take the black wire or pin 86 on the relay and ground it does the relay click

Try it without relays. Its just a ground pulse.

Tried without the relays and it still does nothing.  When the wires are connected the lock/unlock button on the car door does not work.
