Very Very HARD!! Especially access to cabling, if it has a factory alarm you have remove Siren and disable indicators, this is located under left hand carpet in front of driver's seat. The siren must be removed and this is in the engine bay scuttle and murder to get at. It's mandatory to use a 556u using the Euro set up ie don't use the loop  antenna.

On any A4 of that age, look to plugs behind kickwell covers, drivers side well give you low - lock and unlock, extend lock pulse for about 10 secs to close windows, about 15 if you have an electric roof, separate door contacts in kickwells,  diode isolation AND blocking before joining, hood lead to hood (existing) switch, trunk lead in l/hand floor loom going to factory alarm, either BROWN / white, BROWN / green or BROWN / black, not sure,  diode block before the join. Indicators, BLACK/ white and black /green at driver floor loom or ign lead.Tach from an injector wire, (not the common colour). Sorry it's some time since I've done one. 12v+ = thick red to ign OR rail under fusebox marked 30+, starter = RED / black at ign switch, ign = blue/black at smae also in ign lead secondary ign, not sure colour (BLACK / YELLOW?) which will dump its voltage on cranking, acc at ign lead or fusebox  = red, or yellow red or RED / yellow (not sure). The ign leads which is where you will get your transponder leads is an absolute pig to get at!

awesome thanks the info. much appreciated. How do i pulse the lock everytime? is that by actual remote or relay or what? i wnt the car to always close the windows n roof when its armed. I understood there was a wire to tap into? as you could set it up on an aux channel and have work seperately?? correct me if im wrong?

If you have to ask the first question I suggest you take it to a competant local company!! The answer is that on your alarm should be n aux output that can be programmed for time see my other post and auto activate upon arming, this is then connected to the alarms lock wire. Alternatively the alarm may allow you to programme the lock wire for the extended pulse required, also known as total close or comfort close.

PS please make sure for safety reasons that your R/S is compatible with manual trannies. I take no responsibilty for accidents etc incurred if the car is able to start in gear!
