07 corolla keysense?

I just installed an audiovox prestige APS57 remote start with a DEI 556U immobilizer interface. Here is the problem. The remote start will start the car and run fine. However if you shut the car off using the RF remote control, then attempt to restart the car using the remote , the car will start run for 5-10 seconds and shut off. during this time the security light is off. I am thinking I need to hook up a keysense wire, but don't know if it should be from the remote starter ground wire or from the immobilizer box. Any help would be appreciated. The car is an 07b Toyota Corolla LE Auto.

Diode isolate and connect that wire to the blue/black wire from the ignition harness. It should show positive voltage when no key is in cylinder and 0v when it is.

OK< I assume we are talking about the wire, that is for keysense from the DEI then, not the remote start itself ?

Keysense is only needed on Toyotas with a factory alarm. I've never seen a Corolla with an alarm. The security light is supposed to be off when the car is trying to start; that's normal. Are you using voltage sense or tach? I'm guessing voltage, based on the 10 second runtime. Try changing the voltage threshold (in the programming menu) to the other, non-default setting. If that doesn't work satisfactorily, use the tach wire at the instrument cluster. (You can find more details about the tach wire with the search feature.)

Again, the keysense wire has nothing to do with it, and isn't at all necessary. If the immobilizer were the problem, the car would never start at all, not even for a second. Some cars work that way, but not Toyota. I've installed Audiovox product for years, and voltage sense doesn't always work well on Corollas. Most of the time it's OK, but not always. Connecting tach at the instrument cluster shouldn't be more than a 5 minute job, maybe 10 at most. Most likely, the reason you're having the trouble is because after the car was just running a moment earlier, the battery voltage is already relatively high............after the remote starter starts the car, it doesn't see enough of a voltage increase to make itself happy. I'd guess that if you remote start the car, turn it back off with the remote, but then let it sit there for 10 or 20 minutes, that it'll work OK next time you use the remote starter.

OK got it working now, connected the tach at ECM first wouldn't pick up signal. Took your advise and picked it up at cluster and worked fine. We used another output from the remote start to trigger keysense. It wouldn't work without it. Thank to for the help.
