so after always reading the DEI note about the transponder keys losing their code on the ML's, ive always turned away remote starters on the ML suv's. But is this note just old? if you use the newer keyboxs with the keysense hookup to shut off the keybox when the main key is inserted in the ignition switch, wont this solve this problem of the key losing programming??????????????????????
and can you grab parking lights inside the vehicle? (audiovox says + at fuse block under hood, and i cant check DEI's site at the moment)

I´ve unfortunately never had the chance to work on one of those cars.
I know on the Chrysler Crossfire, nothing happens if the car sees two keys at once..........the key looks the same as the Mercedes, but that doesn´t mean it is.
But if you have any doubts, just wire up the car´s door trigger to the remote starter´s hoodpin input.
When the customer opens the door, the remote starter will shut down. It´s an inconvenience that he has to restart the car afterward, but the car´s interior will already be warm/cool.

it's not so much seeing two keys, it's seen keys change without the vehicle shutting down.
new 556u has an ignition input that latches the bypass until the vehicle shuts off completly.
as far as parklights, dei lists blue and green at the headlight switch up to the 2002, then it jumps to 2006 and says everything is databus.

PS If in doubt, go to fusebox outputs.
