Hi I'm new here and looking for some help. I used to install car audio systems some time ago but have been out of the field for some time. My poblem is that I insalled a Valet 561T in my brothers 2005 Dodge Dakota as a favor and when you turn the key to run after the truck has been started with the remote the anti lock brake light and the brake light on the dash come on and will not turn off. If the truck is started with the key the ligths turn off as normal. Thanks for any ideas.

Did you energize both the dark blue and pink/white accessory wires as well as both ignitions?

Thnaks for the quick response. I have to check the wiring again on Saturday. The strange thing is that the dash lights do go off sometimes and sometimes they stay on???????

are you using seperate relays for extra ignition or accessory wires? if your relay has 2 wires comming off it for ignition, use only one that has 12 during start, then wire in another relay.

At this point I have only used the wires from the remote start, no relays. Again I haven't done this in a while and was just trying to help my brother. At this point I have used the outputs from the remote starter 1 for ignition, 1 for starter, 1 for accessory and a second accessory to work the heater blower circuit. I guess I will have to add another feed to a second igintion thru a relay is that correct. Any help on wiring the relay or what ever else I would need would be great. Thanks...

The 561T has a small harness that provides negative outputs for extra accessory/ignition/starter relays. You would indeed need to add a relay, triggered by either the yellow (negative ignition output H1/3)or the small pink in the 4 pin connector (labeled as third ignition turn on). I would also suggest to your brother to not use the remote start until this is resolved. I doubt if it will hurt anything but better safe than sorry.
Relay:
Pin 85: Pink (or yellow H1/3)
Pins 86 and 87: Fused constant +12V (can tap into one of the reds in the heavy harness for the 561T just be sure to tap in close to the brain to utilize the existing fuse)
Pin 30: Out to second ignition
Installer, IT support, and FFL. I need less hobbies.

Thanks again for the speedy reply and advise. I will take a look at the truck this weekend and try to correct the installation. I will let you know how we make out.

I hooked everthing up the way you said and everything works fine. I would like to hook up the rear defrost for the mirrors but dont have any idea what wire to attach to at the defogger switch. Not the end of the world but it would be nice to have it work. Thanks again for all the help and any help on the rear defogger would be nice. Thanks again.
