hi all, i have installed a few remote starts in the past, but this car is the only one that is weird. Alright, i helped install a remote start (generic system) on my friends pontiac. currently it works flawlessly, but during installation, this question always got me wondering. For wiring diagram it shows

IgnitionPink Ignition Switch Harness
Ignition 2White Ignition Switch Harness PCM and Cluster

the unit only had one ignition output. First i wired it to Ignition 1 (pink) car started but didnt hold or stay started. tried it on ignition 2 (white) as well, same thing. But when i connect it to Ignition 1, then added an additional relay for second ignition, the car started fine. can some1 tell me why is it that this car requires both ignitions?  to be honest, this is the first time having this problem.

Thanks

The 2nd IGNITION controls various electronic computer modules in the vehicle that allows the vehicle to operate properly like the transmission computer. If you do not power up both ignition wires you WILL cause damage to the vehicle resulting in a transmission failure or electronic module failure.
