Does this unit have true real time 2 way paging like the compustar? cuz i can get this unit for cheap from a friend. thanks

Scytek makes very good products for the price. Their customer service is horrible though. That Unit you mentioned has a 2 way LCD remote and a 1 way remote.  I personally use the 1 way only because the 2 way doesnt have a long battery life. The range on them both is incredable.

This is my opinion only so please take it as that.
I actually installed 12 of these units three seasons ago and only one was bad out of the box. All the rest are still operating just fine (or the vehicle owner's have not contacted me to say otherwise).
The Scytek pieces do not compare to a Compustar or Audiovox or DEI built piece. Yes they work, yes the hold up pretty well. Once you have one in hand you will see what I mean. Smaller gauge wires than what is provided in the others, kind of cheap feeling remotes. The 2-way remotes do not hold up well at all. The operating range is indeed good and the reliability of the brains has been good as well. It is just a 'cheaper' made unit. The Scytek and Asianwolf products are the same thing (kind of like Audiovox/Code).
If some one brings one to me, I would will install it. I will just no longer provide that brand to the owner. I will stick with DEI.
Again, not looking to get bashed here, just throwing out my opinion.
Installer, IT support, and FFL. I need less hobbies.

well since were on this topic about differant systems, twelvolts, have u ever intalled an alarm called ultra start? during 2002, when my mother purchased a car from Toyota, they offered to install an alarm/starter for 700. back then i was clueless onstarters/alarms. Now when i try tos tart in the winter it struggles to start. Do you know of any authorized dealers here in the GTA, i want to find out who installed it, go back and tell them to fix it cuz those units carry lifetime warrenty installed/sold by authorized dealers only. Thanks

your car struggling to start in the winter has nothing to do with the installation. A cold engine (in the winter) takes longer to crank over then when its warmer out. Most good brand remote starters have cold timers on that are programmable. I know with mine, I have problems starting it on the first try when its very cold out. I think mine has a timer (lets say 2 seconds). The remote start will crank the engine for a max of 2 seconds. If the engine doesnt start, the remote starter "fails" but tries again another 2 times. My car will always start on the 2nd time. Also having a good battery also means alot. My battery was 5 years old when I installed my alarm. In the dead of winter when it was below freezing my car would never start on the first attempt.
