Any experience out there installing door lock actuators on a 2008 Mits Lancer that did not come with locks or keyless entry.

This vehicle has the newer cable linkage and I'm find it very difficult to intergrade actuators.

Help

One thing I do is put the actuator on the actual door lock plastic on the door.

Well I haven't done it to this vehicle, haven't gotten one in the shop. If you've ever done it to Elantra you'll know what I mean. If you take the door off the car and look at the lever you should have enough room behind the door panel to attach the rod from the actuator to the lock lever.

That was my thought........

Pulling the door panal, and getting a GOOD look at the lock latch, the part you use to do the locking from the inside. One trick I read about was removeing the cable itself. (cable and the tube of plastic and metal that covers the cable) slide the actual cable OUT of the "tube" Making sure BEFORE removing it from the door panal, that you mark on the cable tube where you would like to hook the actuator rod to. Cut a small section off of the tube (an inch and some change) Normally at the end of the cable there are points that connect to the latch, and the lock mechanisme @ the lock itself. allowing the cable to move freely on the inside of this "tube" nwhile the ends stay put!

What you attempting to do is remove some of the tube to expose the cable on the inside, to have a location to attach your actuator rod. 2008 mitsubishi lancer door locks -- posted image.

Stealth, Kar  Tune and Mr Pierson are all correct  in their comments, over here we never ever had one without power locks, having said that we only got AC about 10 years ago and what are these state of the art phones with dials in "Payback" (Joking aside I prefered the Lee Marvin version). Sriously, I used to use the same trick as stealth on Mazda RX7's the inner core was available for about 3" behind the pull. The other way is to approach a Uk distributor such as Armour Automotive who have specific kits for (UK) Escorts and Fiestas which used a similar cable drive. You must tie down the outers.
