1100f in 2006 mazda 3

Here's my situation: Installing a Viper 5900 in a 2006 Mazda 3 S Sport Remote start works correctly with a key in the ignition Remote start doesn't work without a key I installed the 1100F (tested for ignition, made a best guess on RX and TX.) When I went to program the thing it just was not working for me, after about 90 minutes in 0 degree temperatures I finally thought I got it. I put the first key in, waited... put the second key in, waited... then pushed the button on the 1100F and remote started the car. It worked, I pushed the button on the 1100F and I thought I was done. I started putting everything back together and thought I'd make sure the brake switch cut out the remote start. When I remote started the car accessory came on and the light on the 1100F came on solid green, but the car won't crank. Any thoughts? I'm down to thinking possibly I have RX and TX swapped, but then why does it remote start correctly during the programming step?? My other thought is that the ground when running "status" output from the viper needs to be relayed so the 1100F sees a true ground, but then I don't know why it works correctly during programming.

Sounds good, I'll give that a shot tonight. According to their instructions I push the programming button in between the second key and the remote start, but I wonder if it's getting the code (hence the working remote start during programming) but then not storing it to memory (subsequent non-working remote starts) Thanks

Got it figured out. It was getting it into the second programming mode. If the module doesn't give you the double blink pulse when you're setting it up (before the key part) it's not going to work. It must be in "mode 2" -double blink- or it's not going to work.
