My friend has a 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe. When you lock the doors either with the remote or the drivers side switch they remain locked about two seconds and immediately unlock. This does not however turn off the alarm. They only way I can get them to stay locked is by holding down the drivers door switch for about 10 seconds. Relay problem?  Any ideas?

What is installed in the vehicle? Is there any type of aftermarket system? Some vehicles will not allow the door locks to lock if the key is in the ignition cylinder. If there is an aftermarket system installed and the key sense wire was interfaced it is possible the vehicle believes the key is in the cylinder.
Installer, IT support, and FFL. I need less hobbies.

Nope. All stock. The car has about 100,000 miles on it and has never had this before. It just started within the last two weeks.
