I have a 97 EL and am putting in some heated seats from a 2000 EL. I bought the heated seat switches from a wrecker to have a nice OEM look.
However one of the switches has a messed up LED. When the switch is off, the LED is on, and when the switch is on the LED is off.
The other one functions properly. I was testing them both out with a test light and they control the test light fine, just the one switches LED is wonky.
Any thoughts on how to fix? I was thinking of opening up the switch and taking a look in there. Anyone have problems like this before?
i am an idiot

How many terminals are there on each switch?   Try switching locations of the hot and the wire going to the heater on the problem side.

there are three terminals. Power in, Power out, and Ground.

When i was testing the switches, just to see what would happen, i removed the ground from the switch, but grounded the test light.  On the functioning switch, as expected, the LED was NEVER on.  But on the faulty switch, the removed ground had no impact whatsoever.  In other words, the LED on/off was still reversed.  Somehow the switch was still grounded without acctually being grounded.

Act of god?
