Hi I just purchased  reverse indiglo gauges for a 98 Dodge Ram, I can't for the life of me figure out how to install them. I can get the pointers through the panel, but it's impossible to get over the trip odometer. The instructions said that you do not have to remove the pointers, does anyone know if I can remove the pointers and then restall them.
The instructions only have one line about the placement of the gauge face and the rest is the electrical and removal of the dash.........
Thanks Harry................Havertown, Pa

it's tricky, I did them in my Jeep.
you need to push the plate down flat against teh cluster, and slide the edge of teh indiglo plate under the gauge needle's base till it goes right up against the center-pin itself. then the Indiglo plate will drop over the gauge needle easily. Get the Indiglo plate over all of the needles first, then go one by one and push them under the needle centers, letting the plate pop over them and lay flat.
The rest is fairly easy. You can tap into the illumination and ground wires right at the headlight or dash-illum switch/control behind the dash for power. Then they illuminate when ya turn on the headlights or running lights.
This is how they came out in the Jeep:

Just to add the MR.Wolf's install here..... make sure that you do not push too hard on the needles otherwise you greak them off Indiglo Gauges Install -- posted image. They are only held on by a 1/2" tall post and are no more than 1/16 " thick..... so this means BE CAREFUL.

Hi,

Thanks for the input,  I gave it another try. the problem I keep running into is the trip odometer, it's a couple inches long. If I put the face on the trip odom. 1st, than I can't line up any of the hole for the pointers. Anybody know of anyone in the Phily area that can install it for me?

Thanks, Harry
