The basic sytem requires a speaker, power supply, and a microphone.
You are better off to purchase a unit designed for police use, as all the components you require are matched appropiately.
The only real choices from there is the power output of the speaker / siren. And the style of speaking device, such as those used by police officers.
$150.00 and up will get you a pretty good system. In my case the costs was alot more, due to space limitations.

C.B. unit will provide the mike and output to your speaker. I used a bullhorn/ outdoor loudspeaker I found. It worked and didn't cost much although it wasn't very loud.

LOL, I dont understand what you want it for, then?? The reason I got the unit, was so I could be heard.
Like when some S.O.B cuts you off, without signaling. Or when you're about to go through the intersection and the very same S.O.B. runs a hard red light.
I pull over and give it to him over the PA sytem, makes him feel very stupid, as his vehicle color and make is being broadcasted aloud for all the by standers to see.
As to how ignorant he is, and the lack of driver safety he has for others.

You don't have to shout, by any means. Just speak into the unit, and have at it.
