This morning after I got off from work a guy wanted me to listen to his system... bear with me.... well he had a test cd that he picked up from best buy... and well anyhow I get in the car then he turns on the key but does not start the car then he has me get back out and take a look at his setup... two twelves but they were two different models I about lost it I asked him why he had to differnt models in and he said that he blew one so he went to a pawn shop and picked up a 2nd they both were rockford I will give him that...

anyhow what I wanted to tell yall was while we were looking at his subs he went and started the disc....I asked him if he was going to start his car...

his reply was I dont need too......I was amazed at this then he proceed to tell me that he has a cap..... hahah

I was ok you have a cap, why do you think that since you have a cap you dont need to start your car....

his reply was that his cap a 1.5f , is powering the amp not his battery   A funny cap story -- posted image.

Listend to it for about 10 maybe 15 minutes then he went to start  his car hummmm..... I wonder what was wrong

Wouldn't 1.5 farad cap power the amps for like a whole half a second? Really the car wouldn't start? Better tell him to have his cap checked out.

we listened to it like 10-15minutes...(he was tweaking his system...and was playing sweeps, even pink noise)  but really thought he Thought the system was being powered by the cap....

I tried to explain that maybe for a second or two the cap gave the amp power but then it was all being put on the battery which he did not beleive me at all...

he said he does this all the time..and it starts.....

I almost wonder why he bought the cap for in the first place....

he was dead set on that the cap was powering the system... i should have asked him ..... if his HU was conected to the cap...LOL

lol, I just sold a pair of old sonys to this girl I worked with and I tried to sell her a little amp to push them.... her first reply "Why can I just hook them up to my head unit?"
The world seems full of people who just dont take 2 seconds to think or at least enlighten themselves about the things around them.

like people who wire subs in parallel with the rear by 9's and leave the subs free air on the trunk floor.

you got it.  besides the air is free, no need to spend the money on mdf and related materials.  They can use the money for making a down payment on a used Sparkomatic tape deck down at the pawn shop.  heehee
