OK here is what I am looking for....

The shop I work at is looking to downsize on the ammount of paper work and confusion going between our secretary and the rest of us..

The first thing I have done is networked all the Computers in the shop..

Now what I want and am searching for is some software for doing appointment books....I want the secretary to be able to set up an appointment in the front office and then on the computers in the rear where we work I want to be able to access that appointment book remotely and see what we have comming in...If she makes a change to the appointment book I want the change to be reflected on the CPU in the rear WITHOUT having to Reload the book In other words a real-time update...

If anyone has some software that does this or knows of some please let me know....

Thanx

Oh boy something up my alley, Im a IT Director so this will be fun

Ok since you said you networked everybody I'll assume you have a Client / Server Enviroment, Make sure you have a Windows 2000 Server and then Install
MultiCalendar

Or Install Wndows 2003 Small Business Server With Sharepoint and you have all you need in one package

This should get you in the right Direction

No no...Allow me to correct myself....I have linked all three computers....

Just connection through a router...No server...All CPUs are running Win XP....All are standalone doing their own thing....

I had seen this type of program in a business sometime ago...I cant remember where I saw this prog maybe it was a CPA I used or something....But the secretary up front would take appointments and then enter them into this prog....Then each person in the back working could just pull up their appointment schedule individually....

What you told me would work perfectly but we are a small business and cant afford a 4th computer to simply run as server...Maybe if I could hunt up some old Sh*t box and make it run...but do you have any other ideas that would work with what we have in place already???

Also as I am attending college right now fixing to complete my MIS degree you have any suggestions for me as to where to look for work when I finish....

THANX

Do you have Microsoft Office? you can install Microsoft outlook on each computer and use a feature called shared folders which allow the calender feature to be shared which would update to the other computers real time and you could all see the appointments on the calender each day

If you dont have office or outlook,  does your store have a website? if you do  there are plenty of free calender/apointment scripts out there so who ever does your website could add that to your website and then all you would have to do is just type in the url and you would have it

I'll think of more later tonight as my brain starts working

As for positions after you get out of school, if your willing to move to south florida,  CITRIX has paid internships that pay between 18-25 per hour for a variety of jobs, also we have Motrola down here and they do the same, Look at forutne 500 and 1000 compaines as they have really good entry LV and Internships that pay pretty good
