I need opinions on these 3 products. I am using Trend's PC-Cillin virus protection now. I have used Symantec's Norton Antivirus years ago and a friend of mine likes McAfee's. I was just wondering which one the majority of you use on your computer. I have to renew by the 10th and I was thinking of changing from the one I have now.

I use Norton Anitvirus and havent had any virus problems. Thats the only anti-virus program I have used tho.

I'm using Mcfee's now since it comes with verizon dsl but I think I liked northern better when I had a six month trial on my laptop. Mcfee finds unwanted programs that could be slowing down your computer but I did like all the other features available with northern.

Norton here, too, and it's very smooth. Norton Internet Security 2003...I keep getting upgrades. Ad-aware SE will be your trusted friend if you install that, too. It is primarily responsible for weeding out those cookies and programs that bog down your computer, but are not viruses. Ad-aware is free, SE is an upgrade. I've used both but have the SE version now.

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

Depends on how much you want to spend

I have a small advantage as Director of IT for my company I have all enterprise level hardware firewalls and software Anti-virus systems for my home network

A good rule of thumb is a Hardware firewall is going to be more secure in the long run than a software based package, and most Corporate Anit-Virus solutions are going to catch more than there consumer counterparts

Now one Software firewall I use on my laptop is Zone Alarm Pro, I have that coupled with Norton Corporate Anti Virus 9 and I never get viruses on it. as for a Spyware blocker/Scanner I use a free product made in Germany called SPYBOT its does a great job on keeping all 5 PC's and my Server in my place clean for Spyware

So theres just some thoughts on the subject.

I have been using the Ad-aware free version and like it. I probally will upgrade to the SE version. I am still not sure between Nortons and McAfee. I have to do something by tomorrow.

I would go with Norton Over McAfee if given a choice, the over cost of norton over a 5 years span is about 11% cheaper and there Tech Support is very quick to address problems that arise

I have Norton 2005 and it works great. Ad-aware and spybot search and destroy are great free programs for getting rid of spyware.

Just make sure you do all the updates and when new updates appear, then do them. You'll be protected pretty good.
