Just wondering if there are any tips or tricks to the install. I am going to be installing an Astrostart 1105 in a '00 Mustang V6. What kind of time frame am I looking at on this? Is it a nessisity to install the Hood Pin also? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am not at all new to car audio/security but this is my first full on auto start

Thanks

hey check it out,if you don't have a factory alarm ,then you will have no problems.just tie into the wire's coming off your ignition switch.if there are two yellow wires(about 22 gauge) very small do not touch !ford has been pretty consistent with it wire color's since 1990.also make sure you have a tach input to your remote starter.by the way make sure you test each wire to ensure you have the righjt lead .my email address is da6foota@yahoo.com.

NOTE: This vehicle has the PATS anti-theft system.  *1 Also found at the GEM module located above the drivers kick panel to the drivers side of the steering column.  *2 There are two door trigger wires. Use yellow/black for the drivers door and gray/red for the passengers door. Both wires are found above the drivers kick panel in a 20 pin connector. Use both wires and diode isoate each. See direct fax document #1076 for wiring information.  *3 For the 3.8L motor, use the dk. blue/lt. green, RED / lt. blue, or the pink/white. All of these wires are found at the coil pack. The 4.6L motor uses a separate coil for each cylinder. Go to any coil and use the wire that is NOT red or WHITE/ lt. blue.   *4 The PCM is located behind the passenger kick panel.   *5 The amplifier is located just below the radio.

Yes,put the hood switch in ,because some remote starters all you do is touch(barely)the key fob  button and the car starts.Wouldn't that be suprising if you ahave your hands in the accessories are, your changing oil and the car start.Very Ugly!
