Hey all, after a LONG time I finally made it back into the forum. For those that remember me I'm still running the same system I had in my old Explorer:
Alpine CDA-7995 headunit, (2) 5.25" Infinity Kappa 50.5cs's, (2) 5x7" Infinity Kappa 572.5cf's, (2) Kenwood KAC-649S amps running the Infinity's, (2) Rockford Fosgate RFD2112 Punch HX2's, (1) Rockford Fosgate Power 1000bd amp running the HX2's
I got rid of the Explorer and have another Mustang again, an '05 this time. I'm going to be installing the system over the winter but I need to make a new amp rack and buy all new wires. The trunk floor is angled, so I gotta do some measuring.
Anyone done anything to an '05 Mustang yet?

Welcome back Dude........... I have not worked on a new Mustang yet, but what factory option audio system do you have in there now ? Check out Cardomain.com for any ideas for these new Mustangs.

Thanks Jeff, it's been a long road getting my feet back on the ground after the divorce *laughing*
I've got the Shaker 500 in there now, but like always it's all getting removed when I put in my system. I'm thinking of adding some 8" mid-bass drivers since there are already factory 8's in the doors. My 5.25's will fit in the doors as well, and my 5x7's will still work in the parcel shelf. Thank god Ford keeps some things the same *laughign*
I'll definitely check out Car Domain, mainly because I'm at a loss for the tweeter placement. I hope I can find the flush mounts for them, because I never liked the way they stuck out in the Explorer with the surface mounts.

.............but in one of them when you apply 12v to the factory amp turn on wire, the starter will start turning over even with the key in acc. kinda strange and i still have yet to figure out what causes this. if you do a complete rewire, you should be good to go.

That's tooooo funny !! Welcome back -- posted image.  I never knew that.... I'm going to have to go find me a Ford system to guinne pig

Yea the trunk space sux, that is for sure. What is killing me with the '05 is the floor of the trunk. My '02 was flat from the rear seat all the way back, the '05 isn't. It angles down from the rear seat and then back. So I think I need to remake my amp rack (it was made from an old desk anyway). It's gonna be interesting, that's for sure. I gotta fit 3 amps, a cap, 2 distro blocks, 2 crossovers, and 2 12's back there *laughing*
Eventually I'll add a second battery if I can ever find the room!
