The DEI directwire sheet on my remote start shows "- N.C." which I am assuming means ground when the hood is closed and No contact/No current when the hood is open.  Is there any way to use this circuit (which is accessible under the dashboard) and not have to run a separate wire through the firewall (which is almost impossible in this vehicle)?

thanks

travis

Yes your assumption is correct, DEI make an adaptor but read your installation notes correctly, some DEI units make provision for this via the programming.

howie,

can you give me the part number for the adapter?  I have searched around and could not find it.  I am installing a DEI Avital 4003 remote start only (no keyless entry, no security etc).  The installation manual just shows the (-) hood switch connection and nothing in the programming for changing that to any other type of trigger.

thanks

travis

DEI DTIMazda is the part you're looking for.
